Best Summer Opportunity Ever!

Counselors spend the week in a cabin/tent with five or six campers. They are responsible for leading cabin/tent time and facilitating the curriculum-focused conversations that take place during that time. Their job is multi-faceted and requires spunk, a sense of humor, patience, and an endlessly compassionate heart for hurting children. They will be responsible for appropriately intervening with campers that are repeatedly unable to follow directions or have put themselves or other campers in danger.

This is a big job, but also a rewarding one. Many counselors have experienced their own forms of trauma and trials in life. However, even without having personally experienced trauma or having a background in trauma-informed care, everyone has something to offer a camper. It is all about your desire to help kids who need hope and healing.

SafeNest, Boys and Girls Club of Southern Nevada and the Immigrant Home Foundation are providing a unique sleepaway camping experience:

  • Children ages 7-12 at Camp Roger
  • Children ages 13-17 at Mill Hollow

Camp HOPE Las Vegas is an accredited member of the American Camp Association (ACA) focused on safety, fun and growth.

Where is Camp HOPE?

Camp Hope is located near Park City, Utah.

What are the requirements for being a counselor?

Counselors must:

  • Be 18-24 years of age
  • Pass a background check
  • Attend mandatory training sessions

When are the training sessions for camp counselors?

Mandatory training sessions for camp counselors are at the following dates and times:

  • Wednesday, June 30 (10 a.m.-12 p.m.)
  • Thursday, July 1 (10 a.m.-4 p.m.)
  • Friday, July 2 (10 a.m.-4 p.m.)
  • Saturday, July 3 (10 a.m.-4 p.m.)

How will I get to Camp Hope?

Campers and staff will meet at a specified, central location in Las Vegas to ride together to camp on a fully licensed, air-conditioned charter bus.

What kind of activities are part of Camp Hope?

Activities will include mountain biking, archery, swimming, hiking, arts & crafts, horseback riding, cookouts and fishing.
