About Spring Tea
On Saturday, May 2, SafeNest is hosting the 9th Annual Spring Tea at The Four Seasons. The event will feature high tea, live and silent auctions, cocktails and conversation. The fundraising goal this year is $100,000, 100 percent of which will support ending domestic violence homicide in Clark County by funding programs and services such as:
- Pets Are Survivors Too (PAST), a volunteer foster program designed to provide safe havens to pets impacted by domestic violence. 65% of domestic violence victims are unable to leave their abuser because they are concerned about what will happen to their pets when they leave and 71% of victims report their pets are also being abused.
- Project Safe 417 (PS417), a unique collaboration between SafeNest and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) designed to provide immediate support to victims at the scene of the incident. Launched at the Northwest Area Command (NWAC) in 2017, the program will go live citywide in early 2020.
- Camp Hope, an evidence based summer camp program designed to teach healthy life and coping skills to children impacted by domestic violence. Camp Hope 2020 is expanding to include a teen program for ages 13-17.
