How can I start a donation drive or fundraiser for SafeNest?
Will SafeNest help with our donation drive or fundraiser?
Upon receiving your information from your filled out form, SafeNest can do the following:
- Provide you with our SafeNest logo if you plan to use it for flyers or social media to promote your event.
- Share your event on our social media
- Work with you to set up a drop off date and location (we ask for at least 4 days’ notice), and depending on the drop off date/location, a staff member can attempt to help you with your drop off process and take photos of the donations and donors to say ‘thank you’ on social media.
PLEASE NOTE: while we appreciate your support and your passion for our mission, we may not have staff or financial resources available to commit to the event.
What if I want to do a donation drive for the holidays?
- As with all donation drives/fundraisers, we’ll need you to complete this brief online form.
- If you have any questions about the form or the process, you can email Marilyn at
- If you want to collect donations of new holiday gifts for SafeNest’s clients and shelter families, please DO NOT wrap donations. If possible, please keep donations in original packaging. And PLEASE remember our kids range in age from newborn to 17 years old. We want our shelter teens to feel remembered.
ALL HOLIDAY donations must be scheduled for drop off or pick up by emailing Marilyn at mlop@safenest.org.

- Monday, December 12 for all NEW toy donations
- Friday, December 23 for all NEW wish list items

Do I need to schedule drop off or pick up upon completion of my donation drive?
Yes. ALL HOLIDAY donations must be scheduled for drop off or pick up by emailing Marilyn at mlop@safenest.org

Should we wrap toys and/or other holiday gifts?
Please DO NOT wrap toys or gifts. If possible, please keep donations in original packaging.

Can I help SafeNest by lending a hand during the holidays?
Of course! We depend on volunteers and appreciate those who give their time. If you or your company are interested in volunteer opportunities over the holidays, please visit our volunteer page
Can I donate gently used items?
Yes, we always accept gently used clothing, shoes, blankets and/or small household items. SafeNest trucks can pick up your used goods curbside at your home. To schedule a pickup, go to: safenestdonate.org.
Can I receive a tax receipt?
Individuals & Family Sponsors: Request an official in-kind donation form from the SafeNest Holidays representative who assists you.
Company, Organization or other Group with Multiple Participants: You can request a single donation receipt for the company or organization for the in-kind donation upon delivery. That will act as the organization’s official donation receipt in the event it is claiming a tax deduction.
