Volunteer with SafeNest

Join Crisis Advocacy, a Volunteer Program that makes a life-saving difference in ending domestic violence and sexual assault in your community. As a volunteer, you’ll work alongside law enforcement to provide critical support to survivors in their time of need. Your efforts will have a direct impact on creating safer communities and promoting healing and hope. Don’t wait, sign up now to become a vital part of this important work as a SafeNest Volunteer.

Volunteer Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be 21+ years old
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Reliable transportation
  • Safe driving record
  • Clean criminal history (complete a self-paid background check)
  • Own a mobile device

 

Crisis Advocacy Volunteer Commitment

  • Commit to (1) 8-hour or (2) 4-hour shifts per month
  • Attend a 16-hour training academy
  • Complete (1) 4-hour 101 virtual training
  • Attend meetings

 

Crisis Advocacy Volunteer Expectations

  • Able to sign up for a shift within 3 weeks of taking the training
  • Complete Crisis Advocacy Academy
  • Must be able to remain in an upright stationary position for extended periods
  • Able to move unassisted, including stairs and rough terrain
  • Work indoors and outdoors, exposed to various weather conditions
  • Drive to and work across Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, and Henderson areas
  • Learn to dispatch metro calls to advocate/volunteers
  • Exchange accurate information in person and over the phone
  • Tolerate unpleasant sights and stressful environments
  • Be tech savvy
