The Epidemic in Clark County

Clark County is the most dangerous county in the country for domestic violence homicides.

The Solution: One Safe Place

Across the country, Family Justice Centers have transformed the response to domestic and sexual violence—reducing homicides and creating real pathways to safety and healing.

A Proven Model That Saves Lives

One Safe Place is based on a nationally recognized, evidence-based model known as the Family Justice Center framework, developed and supported by Alliance for HOPE International.

This model brings together every critical service for survivors—law enforcement, legal support, healthcare, counseling, housing assistance, and more—all under one roof. By eliminating the need for survivors to navigate multiple agencies across town, Family Justice Centers provide immediate safety, comprehensive care, and a clear path forward.

San Diego, the first Family Justice Center in the nation, has seen a dramatic decline in domestic violence homicides since the model was introduced, with rates dropping by nearly 90%.
Survivors overwhelmingly support this approach. In more than 230 focus groups conducted by Alliance for HOPE International, every participant shared that having all services in one location would make it easier to get help
Families utilizing Family Justice Centers report feeling significantly safer and more supported compared to navigating multiple agencies on their own.
According to a 2017 analysis of homicide data by the Washington Post, cities with strong Family Justice Center models, like San Diego, Fort Worth, and Brooklyn, consistently rank among the lowest for domestic violence-related homicides.
Today, more than 150 Family Justice Centers operate across the U.S., providing life-saving, coordinated care and transforming outcomes for survivors and their families.
