SafeNest nominated for Nonprofit of the Year and Outstanding Community Service Awards by the Mesquite, Nevada Chamber of Commerce 

LAS VEGAS – SafeNest was nominated for the 2024 Nonprofit of the Year and the Outstanding Community Service awards for the Mesquite, Nevada Chamber of Commerce’s   Best of Mesquite Chamber Awards.  

According to the Mesquite, Nevada Chamber’s website, the Nonprofit of the Year and Outstanding Community Service awards honored organizations that went above-and-beyond the scope of work provided to the Mesquite community. Winners were selected by Chamber members though a vote.  

“SafeNest is honored to be recognized as a Mesquite, Nevada Chamber Nonprofit of the Year and Outstanding Community Service nominee,” said Linda Bridges, chief marketing and communications officer for SafeNest. “This nomination reflects our dedicated work of ending domestic and sexual violence in Mesquite and our fierce commitment to empowering survivors. We are grateful for the community’s ongoing support as we continue to provide life-saving resources and pathways to healing and hope.” 

The winners were announced at the Best of Mesquite Chamber Awards and State of the Chamber Dinner, January 8, at the Eureka Casino Resort in Mesquite.  

SafeNest has been at the forefront of ending domestic and sexual violence in Southern Nevada for 44 years, treating the entire continuum from prevention to protection to empowerment providing a safe shelter for victims of abuse and providing resources for abusive partners to address the cycle of abuse. In 2024, we provided life-saving services to survivors of domestic violence including 46,420 shelter and housing services; 23,090 calls to our 24/7 hotline; and 1,248 crisis responses in partnership with LVMPD.
