Join us for the SafeNest Volunteer Training & Fair: a fun, interactive event where you’ll discover the many ways you can help create a safer Southern Nevada.
Explore volunteer opportunities at information stations, meet the SafeNest team, and find the role that’s right for you. Whether you’re interested in supporting survivors at our confidential shelter, supporting survivors during the court process, welcoming guests at our front desk or answering calls on our 24/7 hotline, there’s a place for everyone to make an impact.
After exploring the opportunities, you’ll participate in an engaging volunteer training that will introduce you to SafeNest’s mission, the dynamics of domestic and sexual violence, trauma-informed volunteering, and how every volunteer plays a vital role in creating hope and healing.
You’ll leave with new connections, valuable knowledge, and the confidence to begin your volunteer journey. Together, we can create a community where survivors are supported, families are strengthened, and everyone has the opportunity to live free from violence.
This event completes the Mandatory Two-Day Volunteer Training, a required step for anyone looking to become an active SafeNest volunteer (you only need to complete 1 2-Day Training).

PS417: Be on the front lines of crisis intervention by working alongside the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Crisis Response Team (CRT) volunteers provide immediate support to survivors at the scene of domestic violence incidents, offering resources and assistance in real time. This vital role requires extensive training but offers an incredible opportunity to change lives.
Hotline: If you are a victim of domestic violence, sexual assault, or human trafficking, SafeNest is here for you. Trained advocates are on call 24/7 to assist victims of hidden violence (human trafficking, domestic and sexual violence). Advocates can assist with safety planning, emergency temporary protection orders, local resources, access our emergency shelter and more.
Our trained advocates will:
– Provide a safe, judgment-free place to talk.
– Assist in determining whether you or someone you know is being abused verbally, sexually, physically, financially or digitally.
– Help create a safety plan so you will be safe and prepared if or when you decide to do so.
– Provide information about shelter services, including intake procedures if needed.
– Guide you through legal options.
– Provide access to SafeNest resources and services.
Help SafeNest raise awareness and funds through exciting community events such as our annual SafeNest Soirée, 7th annual Run for Hope 5K, and more. Volunteers assist with event planning, setup, guest engagement, and logistics for fundraisers, awareness campaigns, and outreach initiatives. Whether you enjoy organizing behind the scenes or engaging with the community, your help makes a lasting impact.

Help create a safe and welcoming environment for survivors and their families at our emergency shelter. Volunteers assist with shelter operations, provide resources to residents, answer calls at the front desk, and help with organizing donations. Your support ensures that survivors have access to the care and stability they need during a critical time.
Volunteers at our Mesquite, NV location will answer phones and assist in the office, help with administrative tasks, sort and organize incoming donations, and assist with other tasks as needed. Your time and effort will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
Going to court can be intimidating and overwhelming. SafeNest advocates at Family and Criminal Court help ease this burden by attending hearings with survivors of sexual and domestic violence, informing survivors about the process, helping survivors understand the outcome of their hearings, and providing assistance with planning next steps.
