SafeNest’s One Safe Place secures 21 community partners
Survivor-focused hub is slated to open Oct. 15
LAS VEGAS — SafeNest, Nevada’s largest and most comprehensive nonprofit dedicated to ending domestic and sexual violence, announced that 21 community partners have signed on to provide programs and services at One Safe Place, a centralized survivor-focused hub for people and families affected by domestic and sexual violence.
One Safe Place, scheduled to open Oct. 15, will occupy a multibuilding site at 3820 Meadows Lane.
“The commitment of 21 organizations to One Safe Place sends a powerful message: Our community is ready to eliminate domestic violence-related homicides,” SafeNest CEO Liz Ortenburger said. “Working side by side, we can provide survivors with faster access to services, reduce the burden of navigating complex systems and create a model of collaboration that will change lives for generations to come. We are incredibly grateful for these partners and proud to build this future together.”
One Safe Place is recognized by Alliance for Hope International, one of the nation’s leading systems and social change organizations. When One Safe Place opens in October, it will join a network of more than 200 similar centers across the United States.
These proven models have helped reduce homicides, increase offender prosecutions and improve survivors’ outcomes by providing coordinated, wraparound services under one roof.
One Safe Place will provide numerous programs and client aid services on-site, including legal and advocacy support; counseling; crisis response; and housing services.
